Donald Trump’s claim that he meant to say “wouldn’t” instead of “would” has the likes of Stephen Colbert thinking the president may want to change up other problematic things he’s said.
On Tuesday, Trump attempted to mop up the mess made during with Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, Finland, by saying he meant to use a double negative.
On the issue of Russia’s meddling with the 2016 election, Trump said, “The sentence should have been, ‘I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t be Russia” so, just to repeat it, I said the word ‘would’ instead of ‘wouldn’t’… sort of a double negative.” Read more…
